Flashback Friday: The Glass Box
Looking back on old work can be simultaneously humbling and inspiring. Humbling because you realize how far you’ve come; inspiring because it becomes clear how far you have to go.
During my senior year at Chapman University, I wrote, directed and starred in this short film. Parts of it make me cringe, and other parts make me cry. I hope I never forget what that feels like.

The creative process is a fantastic thing. This beautiful time capsule resonates with me on many levels. I love that it’s a film about friendship, seemingly created by a group of friends. I’m heartbroken over the loss of all the films that never followed. But, most of all I feel privileged to see the infancy of someone’s passion displayed so vividly, so honestly. It’s amazing to see the sparks of what I’ve come to take for granted in a person.
So thank you for sharing this. It makes me look back at my own creative endeavors and recognize that every day that passes, where laziness defeats gumption, I lose a piece of me that I never shared with the world. It’s tragic. But one hell of a motivator.
Keep sharing yourself. Lets all live forever.
